Keeping fit and active is a key element to health and longevity. Getting our bodies moving has been proven to boost mood, reduce stress and build confidence. Moving looks different for everyone, which is why Momentum Disability has thoughtfully designed sessions that are inclusive and accessible to everyone. Getting active in a social setting encourages long term participation as we get to meet likeminded people and hold each other accountable.
Currently, Momentum Disability is holding a social walking club for persons with disability. Whilst it is called a 'walking' club, everyone is encouraged to join in for a walk, skip, roll or stride, however movement looks to you. This is held in Geelong, Torquay and Warrnambool. We move for 30-45 minutes, and take breaks as needed. All walking tracks are wheelchair accessible. Disability support workers are welcome to come too. In the future, we would like to bring in some yoga sessions.
Our walking club currently runs in Geelong, Torquay and Warrnambool. It is completely free to be a part of, and new faces are always warmly welcomed.
